Purpleheart heartwood is a deep purple-violet when freshly cut, maturing to a dark brown. The original color is restored when re-cut.
Weight is between 50 and 63 pounds per cubic foot and the grain is straight, but often irregular.
You choose the length and diameter of the Bo. Traditional roku shaku bo is 6 feet, but many people prefer the bo to be approximately 2 inches longer than the user height.
